Fishing Narooma

Fishing from Hobbs Point

Fishing from the shores of Hobbs Point can be very rewarding, especially since the opening of the Batemans Marine Park a few years ago. Fish stocks in the inlet have definitely increased, and species that have not been seen in numbers for many years have returned.  If you forget your rod, we can lend you one, but you need to bring your own bait. If you think that fishing is better left to the birds (cormorants), you can always pick oysters from the rocks on the 600m shore of Hobbs Pt, or use our canoe (at your own risk)

Fishing Wagonga Inlet

Since the introduction of the Batemans Marine Park a few years ago, fish stocks have noticeably increased in the inlet. There are many spots where you can fish from the shore, but you need a boat to really take advantage of the great fishing in this beautiful inlet. You can hire a tinny in Narooma, or go on a guided fishing expedition, including fly fishing if that's your preference If you bring your own boat, up to about 4 metres or so, you can launch it at Hobbs Point (at your own risk), or launch it from one of the many larger ramps on the inlet.

Fishing Narooma

Narooma offers many options for the dedicated fisherman. You have the choice of excellent beach or rock fishing, or you can try big game fishing; there several fishing tour operators to choose from, and you might even see some whales.
